I’m proud to say that after completing my celebrant training, gaining a Diploma of Excellence from the Celebrant Training School, I adopted the Celebrant Accord from the Funeral Celebrancy Council.
This means that I will follow the five guiding principles for being an excellent funeral celebrant. The Celebrant Accord is based upon five key principles. It states that a good funeral celebrant:
1. Is professional
2. Cares for their clients
3. Is calm and shows natural leadership
4. Writes personalised ceremonies
5. Cares about their self-development
These five steps are at the heart of what I do as a funeral celebrant, and allow me to ensure that I provide high quality funeral ceremonies which are tailored to meet the requirements of the next of kin, family and friends.
These principles are also at the heart of my pledge to funeral directors and to the family and friends of the deceased, in which I also add that I promise to contact the next of kin within 24 hours of being hired (unless asked not to), and that I will meet them at a time and place to suit them.
